Astral Seeds by Jhani Mills was a captivating fantasy book, full of action, otherworldly powers, and dragons. This is the first installment of the Chronicles of the Celestial War trilogy: ‘Eclipse of the Celestial War.’ I rate this fiction book a 4 out of 5.

The Prophecy of the Celestial Balance has been a long-whispered-about myth that turns out not to be a myth at all, as the Guardians of the Zodiac awaken, and the balance begins to crumble. Aric Draconis and his dragon, Ignarion, although reluctant, are thrown into chaos and war to save the world as they know it. They must collect the Astral Seeds and restore the celestial balance before it’s too late.

Something I enjoyed about the author’s writing was how easy to follow it was. Some fantasy books can be so confusing and overwhelming with details, but Astral Seeds wasn’t like that. I also enjoyed the author’s extensive and almost whimsical vocabulary. This helped add to the fantasy feeling of the book, allowing me as a reader to fully immerse myself in the details and storyline. Everything was described so poetically; for example, the descriptions of the sky always amazed me: “a vast expanse of stars twinkling against the deep velvet of night.”

I did find a small number of mistakes, so I deducted one star from my rating.

I personally love astrology and anything related to zodiac signs; therefore, I absolutely adore the Zodiac Guardians. I thought the names of the Guardians were incredibly clever, and I enjoyed how well the signs were represented through their respective characters. I’m hoping more of the signs will be represented in the following books! I’m a Capricorn, so I’d love to see how the author portrays that sign and the Guardian they’d create based on Capricorn characteristics.

Overall, Astral Seeds by Jhani Mills was interesting and action-packed. I will certainly be checking out the other two books in the series, and I’d recommend this to anyone who enjoys a rich fantasy story or series.

OK, I think the author keeping everything simple might have made this book what it is. I agree, indeed, many books of this genre can be confusing with their too much information. Oh, I hope the reviewer takes a book through another round of editing to make it perfect.
‘When you do a good deed, people are grateful, and that creates a nice feeling inside you; and then because it feels good, that makes you want to do more good deeds. That repetition is the cycle of goodness.’

The mix of astrology, dragons, and action sounds like an exciting and unique concept. The author’s poetic writing style and clear storytelling seem to really help immerse readers in the world. I'm curious to see how the Zodiac Guardians will continue to be developed, especially the Capricorn one.

A fantasy story with dragons, celestial wars, and zodiac-inspired guardians sounds like a fun and immersive read. Love the idea of each zodiac sign being represented through characters—feels like a fresh take on astrology in fantasy!
