In the closing days of Neith, a space station located in the orbit of Venus, the only scientist remaining there is Dr. Jim Ryburn, along with the caretaker crew including Chief Jake O'Connor, Jerry Benson, and Seymour McSweeney. Once a celebrated genius, Ryburn is now considered a lonely drunk. Yet, he has not given up hope. He is trying his best to make his clandestine Mercurian venture a success. His latest Mercurian mission upends the lives of all those aboard Neith. Strange occurrences in the space station baffle O’Connor, Ryburn, Benson, and McSweeney. O'Connor comes across time travelers, Doyle and Anderson, while Ryburn finds himself on the verge of a ground-breaking discovery.
What strange occurrences take place in Neith? Who are Doyle and Anderson? Why do they meet O'Connor? Is Ryburn able to make his discovery? If so, how does it affect the world? Most importantly, what is Doyle's law?
