Was it destiny or happenstance that day? A monumental find during his routine afternoon of beach combing changes Bill's life and perspective forever. A golden, glittery tube of metal; it looks ancient, could it be from a shipwreck? Is there more treasure? A treasure, that would have been simple, but no, this item was not made on Earth. Bill and the treasure are inextricably linked when the metal wraps around and embeds in his arm.

D. Bolland in Island: Preserver of Worlds explores the dynamics of alien contact and how the Earth will respond. With the metal bracelet embedded in his arm, Bill is the only human who realizes an otherworldly presence has been on Earth for thousands of years—waiting. His life experiences guide his next choices and decisions. Will he choose right? Not just for himself or his nation but for the entire world? But who to trust? With one man, Bill, forming a bridge between mankind and an organic tech-based entity, the world needs to make a choice. The book takes the reader on an adventure from the calm shores of Bill's retired life to the office of Prime Minister and the front lawn of the White House. In addition to international politics, a small cell group is attempting to obtain the alien artifact at all costs. What will the world decide?

This book was a great read. I enjoyed the fast-paced, choppy nature of the writing since it added to the sense of urgency Bolland was trying to convey. Bill’s desire for a simple life clashes with the unavoidable presence of alien tech and its global consequences, creating strong tension and momentum that keeps readers turning the page. I would recommend it not just to fans of sci-fi, but to anyone who enjoys a well-developed fiction novel with action, intrigue and relationships. I rate the book 4 out of 5 stars. While I enjoyed the plot and subtext, the frequent spelling errors throughout the book were a bit distracting. After thorough editing to fix the errors and clean up some dialogue, this book would be worthy of more stars.

Just from the first paragraph itself, my curiosity was already piqued, as I could not imagine what the impact of the device would be. I hope that Bill will make the right decision. The other big question is whether the device was meant for him or it was actually a random discovery. The review is nice, @Jennifer Wilson 95.

When it comes to alien novels, I am usually skeptical, but this novel seemed to have piqued my interest. I like the fact that the author took a different approach from the usual big bad alien storyline to a more subtle one. Beautiful review indeed.

The basic concept of this novel is interesting, the intrigue element and the relationship developments enrich it, so I'm curious about how the story might unfold. I hope the author does proper proofreading to avoid distractions for readers. Thank you for your great review!
