The author encourage the reader to take full responsability for his life as a means for balance and anxiety relief. What are your thoughts on that topic? Do you know good exemplos that prove the advantage of this step? Have you take it in some areas of your life?

Taking full responsibility for decisions and obligations is a goal everyone should have. It narrows down to understanding your weaknesses, learning from your mistakes, and moving on when required. I'm always taking full responsibility for my actions. It's a sure way to stay out of trouble.

Very interesting your words. One thing you said called my attention in particular: the importance of understanding your weaknesses. I don’t recall any emphasis on this in the book, but I do think that many people hide from themselves their weaknesses, what creates a lot of internal pressure. I had an aunt, for example, that pretend living a life without problems, one day she just exploded and had a 24 hours amnesia.
What do you think about this?

I also like to support the thoughts if the author.
By taking the responsibilities of our decisions and obligations should to a top priority for everyone. This a seem a little uncomfortable at first. But eventually you can attain this goal. When we reach this point in life, we will be well aware of all the possible results if our decisions. So nothing becomes unexpected to us, which in turn reduces our anxiety. It helps is be aware of our weak points.

I agree with the author. I think taking full responsibility of your life certainly brings balance and when those high stress situations come along you are able to handle the stress and anxiety much better!

Knowing your weaknesses, understanding that by taking responsibility of your actions, you can live a healthier life. With this mindset we can be aware of our decisions and accept the outcome. And the authors says, by dong these things, our anxiety will melt away. I'm not sure if I entirely agree with this, but I'd have to experience it for myself.

I'm not a master of taking responsibility myself, but of all I have read, the best advice seems to be: make your bed every morning. Starting from the Army, you can find this echoing in many places.

I'm curious. You wrote that we reach a point where we can be aware of all the possible results of our decisions. Nothing becomes unexpected. Can this be true? Can you elaborate more on that? This is really valuable if you could share.

It cannot be overemphasized. It is paramount that everyone takes full control, also, make decisions for ourselves and by ourselves. There's no better thing than that.

I have had times when I would blame others for the problems in my life, but of course, deep down I knew I was partially if not totally responsible. Learning to accept my own responsibility in whatever happens in my life saves a lot of time and actually gets me moving forward instead of being stuck in the mire of blame.

I agree, it's your life and so you can make choices that will enhance or worsen your day. I tend to take on too much responsibility though and I have been trying to balance it out over the years.

I think that once you passed the state of feeling offended that someone is telling you to be accountable for your life, you can find this to be the best piece of advice you will ever get.
Our lives are ours to be lived, and there is no one that should determined the course of our lives. Specially something as negative as anxiety that prevents us from enjoying life.

Taking responsibility of one's life is very vital for good health. Understanding that we are not perfect, the author is of the opinion that we should have enough time to relax and not always stay worked up by our weaknesses.

I fully agree with the author here.Although there are a myriad of factors affecting a person's mental health, taking charge of one's cognition, perception and emotions is key to psychological health.

True enough! Maybe what stops many people to take responsibility over their lives is to be told to do so. They do the opposite just to show they are in control, weird isn’t it? When they decide by themselves things start to flow.
