I'm giving this 4 out of 4 stars, thoroughly enjoyed it start to finish! The worldbuilding felt very natural to me rather than a barrage of information like these types of books often are.

Question for other people who have read it: how are you pronouncing 'Voulhire'?
I've been saying it with the 'voul' bit to rhyme with 'ghoul', which I think is the most natural for english speakers, but knowing the capital city is Soulhire, which I would pronounce with 'soul' as it normally is, I wondered if they were supposed to rhyme? Perhaps it is just similar spelling, but I'd like to hear other's thoughts on this!

The plot was exciting, and the I liked the distinctness of each character. You only have to read a few lines to understand them. I wanted to know more about the characters enough to read the next book. I gave it 4 out of 4 stars.

I became instantly hooked on the book on the very first page. I rate it at a perfect 4 out of four. It is a well-spun science fiction story set mostly in Voulhire. The characters are numerous but they are all so well developed that you get to feel an attachment to them all by the end of the book. It is a wonderful read and I would definitely recommend it to others.

Overall, I think it was a good book. My favorite character was Galen Bray. For some reason, I found that I was really only interested in him and his uncle's inheritance. Of course, the book was about much more than that, but that was what caught my attention. He just felt more relatable to me than all the other characters, from the wizards to the royals.

You were right on the second go. "Voul" is pronounced as to rhyme with "Soul."

I rated this book 2 out of 4 stars. I have read Matthew Tysz's The Turn series and loved it, so I was really disappointed with the opening book of this series. I felt that the author pinned too much on this being the start of a series, rather than building out a gripping story. I think I need to read the next book before deciding whether this is one that I would recommend to others.

I think I pronounced the word as "Volair" "Vol" as in "volume," and "air" as in, well, "air." For Soulhire, I pronounced "Solair." That is "Sol" as in "solid" and "air" as in "air." I didn't plan any of these; these were the pronunciations that came to my head the first time I encountered these words while reading, so I stuck to them. Besides it made them sound like non-English words, so I liked it.

I didn't like the fact that Galen only had little to no effect in the major conflict; however, it is understandable since the book this serves as an introduction to the series and focuses on world-building and character development. I also extremely enjoyed reading the first few pages of the novel. The beginning is entrancing. I am extremely awed by the author's captivating writing.
I agree. I believe Galen should have been a lot more in the thick of things, being the book's major character. However, I'll have to read the other stories so see if this is corrected. But at the end of the day, it's the Tysz's prerogative to decide what to do with the character. It's his story, after all.

The Historical science fiction seemed an interesting one. The themes on magic and kingdom politics were intriguing. I give it a full rating. And love to venture into the next books

I love this book so much. I would give it a 4 out of 4 ratings. The premise of the book is intriguing. Gallen's shift of residence from a country brought to a standstill by war to a peaceful country is quite touching. The voyage itself is full of both humorous and sad emotions. Finding his uncles' blacksmith venture brought hope to not only Gallen but the reader too. It a great piece of work that stands alone in a series.

Oh, I didn't think of that! I really like the sound of these, you're right it sounds much more 'fantasy-like'. I'm not sure I'll be able to convince my brain of a new pronunciation after reading it one way throughout the first book, but I'll give it a go!

It is a great start to the series. I loved the slow build-up which made following the story as it started easy. My favorite character is Lord Eldus. Leadt favorite is Meldorath, for now. I am hoping to see if his status as the bad guy remains solid throughout the series

I gave it a full 4 out of 4 stars. The book is the first part of a series of 9 books. The book is more like a beginning to a great adventure or just an episode that introduces the readers to the kingdom of Voulhire and the distinct characters.

The best thing about the book is the author’s writing style. The details with which everything is described makes it easier to imagine the things going on in the story.

What I did not like is that at some parts the details were unnecessary. Nonetheless, it is a great start to a thrilling adventure, and a must-read for sci-fi/fantasy lovers.

I like the book so much because it captured my attention right from the first page. It is packed with suspense and tension that kept me turning the pages. I gave We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival Under Great Skies a perfect score because it is a great introduction to the entire series. I would be glad to recommend this thriller to fantasy and sci-fiction fans.
And a highway will be there; it will be called the Way of Holiness.

I like the author stile of writing and the characters are well shown. Galans character just killed it. I think a 4 out of 4 rating is perfect.
