"Second Term" by J. M. Adam is a gripping political thriller that follows Cora Walker, a skilled and principled warrior, as she navigates a complex web of power struggles and corruption in Washington D.C. With its fast-paced action and intriguing characters, this book is a must-read for fans of the genre.
The difference between taking and giving, and taking and not giving is the difference between life and death.

Cora wears many hats, which makes her character more intriguing and creates more depth in her story. Thank you for the review.

It seems unthinkable that someone in America would be so angry at the election results that they'd become the president and take over by force. I also feel like the plot would eventually test Cora's principle of "kill-only-in-defence" and put her in a dilemma or something. Excited to read til the end!

Cora seems like an impressionable character. Her code for live makes her standout. She is an example to everyone who has power; only use it when it is necessary.

There are strong female leads in this story. Cora is an interesting character, but I am intrigued by Cecilia. The book is action packed. There is a lot of mystery. I am adding it to my shelves.

Cora sounds like an interesting character that I am yet to come across in any story and she is someone that anyone should have in their corner. "Second Term" by J. M. Adam is an action thriller that is engaging and exciting and keep you glued. Oh, and the question of whether the President Terrance will succeed in his plans, that will be a 'No', not with Cora standing between him and his target - Sarah Vasquez.

Second term. seems like an interesting book but I'm not a fan of action stories. I do love Cora's character, her combat brilliance combined with emotional intelligence but I think this will be a pass for me.

This sounds like one of those thrillers that take us through the dark side of American politics. I have a special interest in President Terrance Locke, especially how he plans to assume power by force. Cora is another reason why I will read the book. How she balances motherhood and competency at work is admirable.

Cora seems like a fearless warrior, and I would love to read Second Term by J. M. Adams to see how she handles the situation and whether she is able to stop the president’s evil plot.

In Second Term, J. M. Adams crafts Cora Walker as a compelling female warrior whose refusal to kill in cold blood and disdain for those who do underscores her moral strength, making her a standout action hero.

Cecilia Danforth, the president’s stepdaughter, emerges as a cunning ally in Second Term, her covert opposition to Locke’s schemes adding a layer of intrigue as a “green snake in green grass” working against tyranny.

Female heroines, just what I love. I like that Cora's personal life was also portrayed in the book so we see how she juggled between her service to her family and service to her nation. This makes one fully appreciate the character. Great book, great review.

"Second Term" by J.M. Adams is a geopolitical thriller that begins in 2012 and the main character is Cora Walker, a DIA defense operative that mounted an unsanctioned attempt to stop a terrorist plot in Benghazi. Her team barely repels the large number of terrorist invaders that were set on killing Americans. Sixteen years later Cora is the press secretary for the Speaker of the House. The lame duck president Locke lost his re-election but would not accept the results. He then suspends habeas corpus and starts arresting members of Congress in a desperate attempt to retain power. Sounds a lot like what our current president tried to do in 2020 with the attack on the Capitol and now he is threatening Supreme Court Judges and other Federal Judges with arrest for not approving his agenda. Cora has an uphill battle until the finale exposes what can happen to democracy when political extremism gains too much power. Locke was a tyrant who did not care for the people and he was unscrupulous. The Speaker of the House was standing in his way so he caused a riot that would lead to the Speaker’s death. While this sounds like Trump’s plan in 2024, president Locke is plotting his takeover in 2028. One will need to read the book to learn what happens and if there is a victory for American democracy by the end of the book. The sample was very good but it was focused on what happened in Benghazi.

I like the qualities of the main character, Cora Walker. "Second Term" by J.M. Adam is an action-packed political thriller featuring a skilled and competent female main character, Cora, a mother and a warrior fighting for her country's democracy. Thanks for the review!
