Cop Games is a novel about a young Police Officer who goes on a long journey to find his missing wife, taken from him by a criminal just wanting to play a special deadly game. This approach has never been done before in the Genre of Mystery. It is a very unique way of creating the story as a whole. Like a lot of mystery books, it starts out as a planned crime and ends surprisingly, in something that I didn't see coming. At first I thought that it would be very predictable, but I was definitely wrong.

As the story unfolds you get to see relationships that form and relationships that end abruptly. The main character of the book, the Police Officer, struggles between what is right with the law and what is wrong. He always stops to think about the difference with the two, and makes sure to try to do what is right.

The story seemed like it was more of a time line than an actual book. I felt, at times, the days went too fast. Days would become years in a blink of an eye, so it made the story seemingly hard to follow at first. I felt like there could have been a little more detail during some of the days. But, in the end, getting down to the actual reason of the story was very important and the background didn't need a lot of explanation, so the simplicity was well off.

I usually don't like a lot of description, so this story was well suited for that. The characters were described very well so that you could place them in your head. The book kept you on the edge of your seat, wanting to know what the main character would do and find next. I was extremely surprised with some of the book, it was very unpredictable.

I would recommend this to people who like non-complex stories. It's quite short, which makes for a quicker read. I couldn't put it down at all and finished the book in one sitting, which took around an hour and a half. This book seems to be for young teens but some adults would also enjoy this. All in all, I did thoroughly enjoy Cop Games.

I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars.
