Official Review: P is for Prince by Stu Gratton
This book is titled P is for Prince by Stu Gratton. Gratton, as a British author, has written many books set in Great Britain. The book is a fiction novel based on at least a modicum of the truth with many shops, universities, cafés and streets being based on real places. The story is set around the Royal family and the preliminaries of the 2012 Olympic Games.
The main character Kenzia is a member of a secret security detail dedicated to the royal family. Kenzia is contracted with escorting Prince William around the 2012 Olympic Games set in London. Some have the opinion that the Olympic Games should have been held in Manchester rather than London, and make their opinion known. When strange attacks start to happen everywhere they go Kenzia must ensure the safety of her cargo at all times while ignoring the physical attraction the Prince holds for her. All the while they suspect there may be a mole in their midst.
I thought the book was very interesting. I was intrigued by the use of actual events, real people and places. I think that gives a story even more life. The reader already has a mental picture of the character in their head and in some cases previous knowledge of their character and personality. The book keeps you guessing as to what will happen and keeps you asking; who is the mole?
There are a few political issues raised in the book. Many are bothered by the haughty Americans coming in to buy their football club. In their opinion the Manchester United Football Club should belong to Manchester, not the “US of A”. To me the ending of any book will leave you with either a good or bad taste in your mouth so to speak, and in my opinion the book ended rather abruptly with no follow up of what happened to the characters.
I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars. The story keeps the reader interested and wondering. Sometimes the description can get a little monotonous and I couldn't wait to get to the point and for that reason I gave it three stars out of four. Otherwise a good read and I would definitely recommend it to anyone living around these real places the author has set his story around.
