Don’t hold your breath as you turn the pages of this enthralling crime thriller, frantically reading through the chapters to the end. Follow Detective Sydney Payne on her journey to unravel the mystery of a serial murderer dumping beaten female bodies in the cemetery of Cypress Hills. Cypress Hills by Lindsay Brown is a jaw-dropping, page-turning, crime thriller that will leave you second-guessing everything until the very end.

Detective Sydney Payne loves her job with the Toronto Police Department and values the determination of her team as they work on this mysterious case. She is constantly reminded of her father, Mason Payne, as she follows in his footsteps with the police department. She battles her inner demons, continually fighting through a horrendous nightmare that threatens her every time she tries to sleep. She tries desperately to avoid the romantic relationship she developed with her colleague, Dominic Rocca. Dominic is drawn to Sydney and refuses to let their romance die as he tries to rekindle their relationship. Sydney is too focused on the job and can’t entertain a relationship while working such a horrible case.

Just as Sydney begins to unravel the mystery of who the killer is, another body is discovered in the cemetery. Does Sydney catch the killer? Does she rekindle her relationship with her colleague, Dominic? Read this captivating book to find out.

I rate this book five out of five stars. I was drawn into the story from the very first page and couldn’t put this book down until I read to the very end. I love how the author mixed romance, friendship, and family into the mystery of this crime thriller. I was truly captivated by the storyline and the characters from the beginning. There is nothing I would change about this book. I hope this author continues to write more crime novels because I would devour them in an instant.

I would recommend this book to a mature audience as there are some gruesome aspects to the story.
