Update Status for Appointment in Mordora by David T. Wolf is a thrilling crime novel. It follows the abduction of Gabe and his babysitter, Debbie, the ups and downs of the investigation, and the blossoming feelings between the lead investigator and Gabe's mom.

I enjoyed the fast-paced feel of the story. From the very first pages, the author grips you tight with action and suspense. I instantly wanted to know more, and I almost finished it in one sitting just because I needed to know how it ended.

The characters were well-developed, and the only issue I had was the relationship between Detective Zaag and Andrea. At one point, it was said that only three days had passed since Gabe's abduction, and Zaag already seemed head over heels in love with Andrea to the point that it was impacting his judgment.

I grew to enjoy the tension between them, but it happened so fast with little reason that it was hard to believe at first. For this, I had to deduct from my rating because that doubt of authenticity followed me throughout half the book. I would've liked to see more development of their relationship to give it more depth. That would be the only thing I would add to this story, I wouldn't change anything else.

Wolf has such a way with words, and I found myself attached to the story. The tale was gripping, and the twists caught me off guard in a way I loved. This story was nail-biting and so worth the read. I enjoyed the chapters that focused on Debbie and how she was dealing with the kidnappers from her side of the story. They were some of my favorite parts.

Will Andrea ever see her son again? Will the real reasons for the kidnapping get uncovered? Will Zaag and Andrea's relationship survive the blackmail, cold-heartedness, or buried truths hidden in her family's secrets? Read and find out.

This book was well written. I received an audio version of this book, and did not hear any errors in my listening due to excellent editing. I recommend this book to anyone who likes crime novels. If you want a good thriller with on-the-edge-of-your-seat twists and turns, this book is for you. Because of all the reasons listed above, I give this book four out of five stars.
