Couldn't stand Lolita either, but I never actually finished it. Couldn't bear to read about Humbert Humbert. It made my skin crawl, and I never even made it to the really gross parts.

I had to read Wuthering Heights in high school and absolutely hated it. I agree, every character was despicable. Also, what was the point? Everyone is just pining and being cruel to one another, and it served no purpose.
