Classics relevant today?

Yup! Most of Orwell's works are worryingly topical in today's day and age (even the lesser-known, more subtle ones such as Coming Up for Air and not just 1984 and Animal Farm)

I think that The outsiders and To Kill A mockingbirds are classics that are still relevant to today.

I think classics will always be relevant because they tell us the story of the time when they were written. They are pieces of history that we can open to have a direct view of the author and historical context he was in.

I think there are a lot of important things to find in classic novels but there are also some that haven't aged very well.

I mean, Lizzie Bennett from Pride and Prejudice is still an amazing female character in literature even all these years later and she plays off of a lot of cultural norms from her time. The image of poor people desperately drinking red wine from the streets of Paris before the revolution in A Tale of Two Cities is still such a vivid scene that can be translated to more contemporary events.

Classic novels can tell us a lot about what the past was like but it can also help us to look at our current world from a different angle.

Plus, the writing can be incredibly beautiful if you're just a word-nerd like me.

Little Women and Pride & Prejudice are two of my favourite classics and I think people could still learn a lot from them today.

The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald is a classic that is relevant to this day. The themes of many classics are relevant in modern times. Although the time period is different, similar emotions and thought process exist that makes it easy to connect with the classics. I am always in awe by the classics.

I believe classics transcend generations. The stories were not just about the situations during those times but also about humanity, relations, activism and values.

I think classic books are still relevant because there are a lot of good books which are suitable for children to read even today. The story is easy to understand and the way the authors write it is sometimes much better than any other genre. I like the books from Enid Byton such as The mystery of The Strange Message.

I think perhaps The Picture of Dorian Gray.
The story I think will always remain relevant because of all of the very real social dynamics it displays. Also the idea that there is always something going on with a person behind closed doors. Beauty doesn't not equate to goodness or greatness. People are selfish etc .

I think everyone should dive into this book once or twice in your lifetime.

I believe that the classics never go out of style! Human behavior doesn't change much throughout time. Readers can usually find characters to connect to, no matter how many years have passed. It is also important for people to learn about the culture and history of the different eras. I recommend To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. It teaches you how to respect others, how to handle confrontation, and that you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover.
