Many people read this book after seeing the movie. I am one of them. I've always loved to read and the movie was one of my grandfathers favorites. So one day I was browsing through the library and there it was. The story was so much more than I expected. The movie's plot is narrow compared to the book. It reveals so much more about the characters and the places they live and interact. Not only is the story rich and multi dimensional but is also threaded with tidbits of history. This is one of the things I love about the book because it not only draws you in to the characters lives but also the time in which they live. This provides an atmosphere that makes it easy to fall in love with the story.
