Do you consider George Orwell a classical writer since he wrote Animal Farm and 1984 which are considered classics today..but the other point can be that these works were ahead of their times..so was he a modern writer? Discuss...

Animal farm is the most popular books he wrote. I don't think he has written any modern book. He is an author of classical Era.

Yes I agree he is a classical writer. Both his writing are consistantly relevant after all these years . That's a timeless art and yes it would be subjective of me to say he is a great writer with a prophetic outlook on life and that's what makes him ahead of his time.

George Orwell is often seen as a modern classic writer because his works, like "1984" and "Animal Farm," tackle timeless issues like power and oppression. His sharp insights and impactful storytelling still resonate with readers today.

I'm not sure he is a modern writer. We will have to clarify the characteristics of a modern writer and literature. I guess the question is regarding the themes in his books. I had only read 1984, and I found it incredibly applicable to the concerns of the actual society, I found it was similar to the North's Corea and China society and politics, but not only them, all around the world you can see flashes of thought control and prohibitions of liberty, just to mention one of the most popular, effective and controversial, religion.

A tough one - while the themes of his book are eternal, the books were written a while ago. Just uncanny how some of his predictions have come true! I'd say his books are modern classics.

i consider him a classical writer. While he was ahead of his time, I do not consider his book to be modern, as they are not based on modern events.

I have always known him as a classical writer. I haven't read much of his books, so I can't say for sure.
