I have recently read Short story classics (Foreign), Vol. 3, German - a collection from 1907 now available on Project Gutenberg - https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/73630

I enjoyed most of the stories. There was one which featured a wood-sprite and a fountain of youth, but the rest were realistic.

Has anyone read older German short stories ?

I am currently learning German, so it would be extremely interesting for me! I have been searching for some interesting German stories and am so glad I came across this forum!
