"What Did They Say?" is a delightful collection of children's quotes, showcasing Todd Sherman's warmth and respect for his students, making it a lighthearted and enjoyable read for anyone seeking comic relief. This book appeals to both parents and teachers, and it has potential for nostalgic reflection among older students.

Although I am an adult, children's books bring back the happy memories of my childhood and school days. Mentioning the caring nature of the author is a plus. I wonder how different the author is from my teachers back in school. I want to read this book!

If Todd was so captured by the book it means he was really impressed. It even made Todd to examine himself and think about his kids, what kinds of people they are

Reading your review, I can already begin to imagine the sort of things the children are saying and I'm already all smiles. I teach pre-teens and my son is in eighth grade so I know! It's great to see that the author thought to put it all together in a book and make our day with it.

"What Did They Say?" by Todd Sherman seems like a fun book to read. This nice review portrays that over and over again. Eighth-grade kids are an interesting lot. They always love back. Congrats on BOTD.

This should be a fun read! Children tend to say funny, unexpected things. It was a great idea for the author to document the memorable moments with her students and share them with the world. Thanks for the review!

After reading the review I was quite intrigued and surprised to find Todd Sherman's book What Did They Say?: Observations from Eighth-Grade Students is a fun, light-hearted, and in some ways very touching book considering the time and engagement he spent with the children in his classroom to collect and share over 600 comments. As a lover of fiction, this would be one of quite a few rare non-fiction books I really look forward to reading!
