The Green Living Guy by Seth Leitman is a comic book aimed at children, and its goal is to teach kids about some of the environmental issues that we face today. That premise is great, in my opinion. I think the way to start improving the dire environmental situation we live in is to start teaching kids as soon as possible, the younger the better. For us adults, it is harder to change our ways; we’re so set in our routines that we might overlook the small things that can make a difference for the planet. Whereas if we teach young children to take care of the planet, they will have it easier because it will be just muscle memory.

The book does a great job explaining things like carbon emissions, solar panels, electric cars, and reusable energy in a simple and easy way for kids to understand. Since it’s a comic book, it has pictures, of course, and they are very colorful, and the characters are eye-catching. The book even uses the method of introducing antagonists or bad guys to make the book more entertaining and as a great tool to teach kids in a fun way what are the bad things causing our environmental issues, such as plastics in the ocean, carbon emissions, and pesticides. At the end, since this is also a coloring book, it has several pages full of images for kids to color, so it not only teaches kids but also entertains them with several pages’ worth of hours of coloring.

I’m giving the book 5 out of 5 stars. I always think if a book accomplishes what it set out to do, then a bad rating is not warranted, and I think this can be entertaining and can teach kids the subject matter. The book is also very well edited, as I didn’t find any errors. I would recommend this book to all parents who want to provide entertainment to their kids while they also learn.

It sounds like a fantastic and creative way to introduce kids to environmental issues. Using a comic book format with vibrant illustrations and fun characters seems like a smart way to keep children engaged while teaching them important lessons. I also like the idea of including antagonists to represent harmful environmental practices — it makes the concepts easier to grasp. While I wouldn’t pick it up for myself, I think it’s a great recommendation for parents, teachers, or anyone wanting to inspire young kids to care about the planet. It’s nice to see books that use entertainment to make a real impact.
