:D :D I personally REALLY enjoyed this glimpse of the book, it truthfully just pulled me in and grabbed my attention to just want to read more and more .. reading such a attention grabbing book, of someone who is so motivated and headstrong of becoming one who's richer then rich, and the journey along the way... Is very interesting and exciting for myself.

From newspaper delivery boy to real estate mogul, Burn Zones: Playing Life's Bad Hands by Jorge P. Newbery shows that resilience really pays off. Unfortunately, I don't read nonfiction, so I'll skip this book.

It seems like quite an interesting book, full of inspiration and determination. It's good to see how people don't just give up on their dreams. I think I might just enjoy this one and I might learn a thing or two. Thanks for a detailed review. Congrats on BOTD.

"Burn Zones: Playing Life’s Bad Hands" by Jorge P. Newbery is an inspirational autobiography of the incredible highs and crushing lows of Jorge through an amazing life from newspaper delivery boy to real estate mogul. Jorge uses a burn zone as a rough period in life, where it would be easy to give up but where it’s most important for one to persevere and succeed. Jorge started his first job as a newspaper delivery boy before he was ten, as did I but I started my first paper route when I was seven. Jorge was so ambitious that he began delivering newspapers for a competing newspaper at the same time. My first newspaper delivery job was for a weekly newspaper that included my personally collecting subscription fees each month. While delivering this newspaper I began two years later to also deliver a daily newspaper every morning but I did not have to collect the fee each month. The story then skips forward to where Jorge builds upon himself until he is bidding millions of dollars at a time on real estate. On a humorous note, I went from delivering newspapers to a job at McDonalds when I was 14, went to Jewel Foods at age 16, when we moved to the Chicago suburbs, and I worked there until I went away to college at age 19. Jorge was a self-made millionaire, not one because of a millionaire father. Jorge’s successful trek is admirable and between 1992 and 2004 he amassed over 4,000 apartment units’ worth tens of millions of dollars. To stay on course Jorge needed enthusiasm, determination and a willingness to take on risk. In between newspaper routes and real estate Jorge was very successful in producing albums for punk bands. His family was so supportive of Jorge’s venture that they allowed the bands to stay in their home for local concerts. Jorge was able to transition from one burn zone in life to another seamlessly. I was pleased to see that as successful as Jorge became, he never boasted or became egotistical about success but rather cheered for underdogs to succeed. A nice accolade compared to today’s very rich. He would never become the richest man in the world that allowed hundreds of thousands of children to die from starvation because of DOGE. Jorge was not successful in every one of his quests and he shares the pain of failure but he does not give up or make lame excuses. He shares the lessons he learned from failures and then moves on to new ventures. The sample was excellent and this book is amazing, deserves the 4 out of 4-star rating and every reader can learn from his passion and determination.

This is such a well-written review 😊 You perfectly captured what makes Burn Zones so inspiring. Jorge’s journey from humble beginnings to facing life’s toughest challenges head-on is truly motivating. I especially liked how you highlighted his punk roots - definitely an unexpected twist that added depth to his story. Thanks for sharing your thoughts - this makes me even more excited to read the book

Burn Zones is more than a business memoir—it’s a manual for enduring adversity. Whether you’re an entrepreneur, a dreamer, or someone who’s hit rock bottom, Jorge P. Newbery’s story will motivate you to walk through your own burn zones and rise again—smarter, tougher, and more determined.

This memoir details the author's challenges throughout his life as an entrepreneur. He started delivering newspapers before the age of 10. One success led to another, and the burn zones —periods of intense difficulty —made him stronger and wiser. The book is enjoyable and well-written.

Thank you so much for explaining what a burn zone is. I can easily relate to such periods in life. I'm greatly inspired to hold on through such phases and not easily give up, because they all add up to my success. Thank you for a great review.

Jorge P. Newbery's story sounds very inspiring from what I've read. It's also one I'd love to read, especially for the information on real estate. I'd love to know more about the mentioned methods of reinvestment and mortgaging. Thanks for the review!

I like the statement, "money is the high scoreboard of life". I wonder if it's in the book or you came up with that
