Nice review! I was interested in this book from the first few paragraphs. It's always intriguing to find out how these scam artists work their cons. I will definitely be reading this one.

Sounds like a really interesting read. I've read a handful of books about con artists, and I always like the thought process behind the cons.
You'll know it takes genius to do such things.

With the title the great review, I know it's going to be a good book already.

I'm not sure about this book. I love the Vegas scammers theme in fiction stories and movies, but I never tried reading this genre in a memoir. I'm not sure what kind of message the book delivers with the events of scamming and breaking the law. I think I'll skip this one.

Thank you for your review. I read the sample. Jerry is without a job and almost out of money. His college basketball friend introduces his 'professional gambler' brother. Even though Jerry understands it is unlawful to cheat, he goes to work for "The Boss."

I really enjoyed reading the start of Heat in the Vegas night by Jerry Reedy he captured Nick steals character really well he's definitely a gritty, complex protagonist, and I like how it's pointed out his moral struggle as he digs deeper into the case. The way that the tension between Justice and Corruption was spot on; It's clear that Reedy's setting up a pretty intense conflict. I also appreciated how the atmosphere Las Vegas is highlighted. Really nails that sense of dark allure and danger. It feels like the city itself is a character in The story, constantly pushing steel deeper into the chaos. I'm curious to see how the conspiracy starts to unfold after these first few chapters. There's a lot of potential here for some serious twists as the layers of deception start unraveling. Excited to see how it ends!

I love reading memoirs and this one, although exciting and different seems very much like one I would enjoy. Great review especially when the reviewer mentions feeling as if he is right alongside the characters. Definitely interested in reading!

Thank you for this detailed review! I appreciated how you highlighted the emotional depth of the characters, especially how the author balances romance with suspense. Your mention of the realistic dialogue and vivid Vegas setting really drew me in—those are aspects I always look for in a romantic thriller. I’m also glad you noted the story’s pacing, as that can make or break a novel for me. Based on your review, I’m definitely adding this to my reading list!
