Was it just me, or did that scene where the angels arrived seem cringe-worthy and a bit unnecessary? I think the author might have included it to shed some light on how Cecilia got the artifact, but I feel like it could have been handled in a better way because it seemed too unrealistic and a bit out of place to me. Did anyone else feel this way?

I feel that it was unnecessary. I would have been just as satisfied, if not more, by a face-to-face confrontation. Cecilia could have shown her superiority and so could Alexander. There was no need to include the humans in the scene.

I felt this way too. Trying to involve humans in the fight was so unnecessary. Well, since it's a fictional story, anything is allowed.

I felt that they were included as a set up for a possible sequel since we find out the angel gave Cecilia the artifact and the next book might tell us why, but I did think that there was a better way this could have been handled. Their appearance was very random and did seem out of place.

I don't think it was unnecessary. The angels are part of the demons' back story and it also opens the door for the continuation of the book. Although the entrance was slightly jarring, it added more drama and an unexpected twist in the fight scene and with new revelations about Cecilia's past.

I see your point about it not being unnecessary. It does create an avenue for a sequel. However, I feel like it could have been handled in a better way. It seemed somehow forced into that scene. And a bit scattered to me.

While I don't think it was wholly unnecessary, I think it brought an incredibly abrupt end to the book, just when I wanted to know more. And I felt it was a sudden turn without the appropriate build up.

I thought that it was a rather sudden shift to the narration! I would have preferred that it was handled in a smoother way that was more cohesive with the story.

I also felt that way. But thwn, i guess the author style should be appreciated.

Actually, I liked the scene where the angels arrived. It was unique and unexpected, so that's not really a bad thing. But I do agree that it felt a little forced. I guess the author could've written it in a little different way to make it more entertaining.

Even though it was included to show us how she got the artifact, I do feel it was a bit unnecessary and dramatic. I am not big of overblowing certain events in a plot just to make a point. Hence, I think it was an unnecessary addition to the overall story.

So I definitely think that it was a smart way to create a direction for the sequel, the entire scene felt like a complete shift in tone. It seemed super out of place. Also, it was just very dramatic, it almost had a satirical feel to it.

I didn't feel that it was cringe-worthy or unnecessary. I actually found it necessary to tie things together and lead into the next in the series. For me, it was so intense that I had goosebumps. I thought the author did a great job, not only with the fight scene but throughout as well.

I also agree that it was cringe-worthy. Adding the humans was weird and remembering that the humans were only 16 and 17 years old just made the whole scene unbelievable to me. I could have done without for sure.

It's a work of fiction, if we're being honest and it's left to the creativity of the writer. I think the addition of humans to the fight was to bring something refreshing
