I have not read any if the prequels yet. Since I was able to follow the plot easily, I do not see a need to

I have not read the other books before this sequel. I read this book even before knowing that it was in a series. And it was very much understandable.

That is exactly what I've been doing. It was a lot of fun. Having read a book's sequel is always beneficial, even if it may be read as a stand-alone, in my opinion.

I haven't read the previous books in the series. I think it would be very helpful to read them in order. The third book can be a stand-alone book but there is some catching up to do.

Tho the book can be read as stand alone. Personally I would say Is best to read the prequel and other series before reading the third book because it will create a better understanding and connect some dots when reading the book.

When a book has prequels and could be read as a standalone, reading the prequels will make me understand better. Mainly, the settings of locations are always developed in the first prequel. If that's the case, I believe reading the prequels will set one right and stay better connected.

I haven’t read the prequel but I’m happy that this third book can be read as a stand-alone. Nonetheless, reading the prequels would make me appreciate the book more.

I haven't read the prequels, and I understood the book. I am curious, though, about the previous two prequels.

I'm enjoying Totem so far. I know that Strong Heart and Adrift are supposed to be the first 2 books of the series. But I haven't read them yet, and still am able to find my reading satisfactory. Granted, reading the previous books may provide a better understanding.

I have not read the prequel of this book, but it was not impossible follow the story and not lose the rhythm. Of course it's better to read prequels first, because of the better connection to the characters and the whole story.

I have not read the prequels of the book but I will definitely do so. I feel that overall the book can be read as a stand-alone, but it would be better read as a sequence. There were very few moments when I felt I was missing out on the parts a reference was made to the earlier books.

I had not read the prequels prior to reading this book. In my opinion I felt that the author provided enough detail and information for me to understand what was happening in the book. I feel that this book is one that can be a read as it’s own novel.

Well, from the first installment, it was obvious the story revolved around Sarah. For most character-focused series, it is best to read the prequels, even even a sequel can be read as a standalone story. There's a lot about the antecedents of Sarah that readers would need to know from the prequels, especially to understand the character development.
