Totem is four out of four stars read. I have read the other books in the series and they were amazing. Sarah's character is a very favorable one. The setting is also very detailed and that is something I appreciate a lot in a story.

I couldn't stop reading this book. I've read this book like 2 times already it is a really good book.
In the prologue, they talk about how back then a killer whale and a bear made kids and how the great grandmother of 103 years old has been waiting to see her grandson and her great-granddaughter.
in chapter 1 they talk about the annual open house. when I read the word annual it made me think that they do this open house every year. in the 1st chapter they also mention that victoria was going to make a speech to represent buckhorn industries. at the end of chapter 1, they talk about how people killed the mastodon for food.
those are the only sneak peeks I'm giving you...read the rest for yourself...you will really like it

I loved the journey this book took me through. It wasn't just the North Pacific, but it was a journey through a culture that surpassed time and place. It' was a learning journey that can be applied today to anyone who loves the past and wants to connect past and future with one another.
That writing style is what keeps readers coming back for more. The ability to not only tell a tale but make readers live within it is a blessing. GREAT series!

When teenage Sarah and her friends start having visions of the past, they have no idea how these revelations will in turn affect their future. This book combines masterfully, historical fiction and fantasy/mythology. It also works with elements of time travel and reincarnation. What I found truly captivating is the author’s ability to write about frightening situations with such realism. I also appreciate his choice of a female protagonist. I like that this book talks about the reality that rules over this current age. For example; Greed, lust for power etc. Despite not reading the previous books in the series, I was still carried along properly and I stayed hooked till the end. I’d rate this book a 4 out of 4 stars. I also didn’t find any major grammatical errors so the editing was done properly. I’d recommend this book anytime ! Such a great read.

I have enjoyed reading the book, especially Sarah's character portrayal. The way her adolescent struggles are portrayed, her desire to be heard and believed is something teens her age can identify with. I also liked the historical aspect of the book, the author's deep knowledge about Northern history is commendable. There is nothing to dislike in the book. I would rate this book 4 out of 4 stars and would recommend it to teenagers and young adults.

Charlie Sheldon's Totem makes a great standalone book as well as a great wrap-up to the Strong Heart trilogy. The reader quickly feels tension building and each chapter leaves you wondering what's going to happen to this group. The plot of Charlie Sheldon’s Totem revolves around the vast wilderness of Olympic National Park. In this ‘land of history, magic, and legend’, the author takes the readers on a tour to the world of the past. This is a fantastic book!

While I have not yet read the previous two books in the series, I appreciate the fact that Sarah's story is an epic tale involving reincarnation and time travel, while the tale is also glued to some realistic aspects of life nowadays. It is my opinion that this book only deserves a four out of four stars, and I also admit that I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.

The use of mythology, vivid description, allusion and other devices to tell the past in the present is an amazing skill. The love of their history by characters makes the book fits in it's genre.
Creates suspense for every chapter and the headings of the titles give a guess of what it's about. The youth are called about to try and learn their past just like Myra and Sarah did from their grandparents.I give it 4 stars out of 4stars and recommend it to all.
