Character names in a novel may make a plot far more engaging and exciting. Eric is one of many common names in this novel. The ships, on the other hand, have fantastic names like "Red Witch." The Scarlet Mistress is one of the characters who has a stunning nickname.

The names of characters in a novel does not affect my enjoyment/appreciation of the story. However, I find unique and interesting names to be quite captivating. In "Brandy, Ballad of a Pirate Princess", I found the additional names that were given to the characters to be quite interesting. Some examples of such names include "the Scarlet Mistress", "the plague " e.t.c.
The characterization in a novel is very important. It definitely affects my enjoyment/ appreciation of the novel. The characterization in Brandy, ballad of a pirate princess is excellent

i think the names ae perfectly fine and they fit the characters well. my favorite nomencluture i on the ships. i loved the name, "the morning star" given to joshuas ship

While the descriptive naming added a little perk to the book, I can't really say it increased or decreased my interest in or enjoyment of the book

I'm also drawn to specific names in books because they usually have a meaning that will pertain to a vital part of the whole story. Katrina was Brandy's mother's name and the fact that Don and Governor Bennett would go to that bar all the time and not pick up the meaning, baffled me.

I also think the name, “Red Witch” is wonderfully apt for the pirate ship, and yes - names are so important in giving characters another dimension to their personalities. Great names also make the different characters more memorable, and for me they contribute heavily to my enjoyment of a book.

I love it when I come across unusual names when I am reading a book. One time my brother and I said that we wanted to name our kids after some names we found in a book series. There are still times when I want to use a name that I find in a book for a future child. My boyfriend and I did that with one of our cats, and I named my cat after a word that I love in a book.

The names are just like any other names, I don't usually put a lot into it unless the characters are named in resonation with the events in the book or what they'll go through as the story progresses

I enjoy when names have a double meaning, much like what Shakespeare does with his characters, but if the names are out there and difficult to grasp, I lose interest.

The names in this book was perfect for the setting . You can't think of a book with pirates and not have unique names in it. That in itself adds character.

The names in a book make it either captivating or boring for readers. Names are important! I, for sure, love some unique names. Ofcourse, if the names are great but the characterization is lacking then that's a bummer! Name helps portray a character's personality. Not just characters but the places in the book too! One example is the pirate ship named 'Red Witch'. You can already feel the mystery coming out from this name! Intriguing, isn't?

Eric and Joshua are common. Imagine hearing something like Guelin, lol. That seems not to be the case with this book. Perhaps the names, one will say are quite straight to the ears.
