The cover is what caught my eye about this book. And that is what I like about covers. Most people tend to not pay great attention in designing the covers of their books, not knowing that sometimes their attraction can lead a reader to pick it up and read it. I love the book. I love how soft and gentle the aither was in writing it. I would definitely recommend to everyone who'd care to listen to me.

I loved that the lead was a female pirate, when usually you see make pirates. Brady's passion and her relationships make the book a perfect read. 4 out of 4 stars for me.

This book takes one through the abolition of slavery in the Caribbean and beyond. Eric Erasmus and his wife Katrina marauded the Caribbean sea and being the parents to Brandy could have nurtured her into becoming a pirate as well, the reverse is the case as Brandy meeting John Edwards changed the story. I enjoyed the smooth connection between Brandy and John Edwards. This book's storylines are quite interesting. I rated it four out of four stars.

This book is an interesting one. I think the main character that I love most is Brandy, she has no fear in the face of her enemies and that makes the story interesting. I rate this book four out of four stars. I will recommend it to lovers of fiction and adventure.

I loved the book. I have ot read a lot of books that bring together the two aspects: a pirate story and a female protagonist.
The plotlines were amazing, the language was incredibly descriptive, the jargon was on point and the pace was perfect; not too slow and not so fast that I had no idea what was going on.
I would highly recommend this book for anyone, especially lovers of historical fiction.

This book won a four out if four rating for me because of its unique storylines and plots. What stood out mostly for me was the strong female lead. It was a fine blend of adventure, history, action and romance. For a fictional story, I feel like it well depicted the strength and courage every woman should posses.

I kept thinking of how life can either be a daring adventure or nothing at all. The author takes us to a thrilling journey exposing us to well built characters Brandy and John Edwards. He demonstrates how love and support can only be what anyone would need at some point in life especially through Brandy. It is a well crafted plot and I would give the book a rating of 3 out 4 stars.

I rate "Brandy, Ballad of a Pirate Princess" 4 out of 4 stars. I see this book as an important commentary on slavery and slave trade, and its attendant exploits, abuses, and deprivations. I recommend it to history students, political and social activists, and the general public. This is because this book is itself a pack of sermon - calling on humanity to preserve, protect and defend the dignity of human race.

Pauline Parnell wrote: 01 Apr 2022, 01:47 Brandy, Ballad of a Pirate Princess is a historical fiction novel that chronicles a teenage pirate's life. Brady must re-write her life after the death of her parents. The author is a fantastic writer who knows how to build an interesting plotline. His attention to detail is incredible. It's a joy to read his superb use of language. I'd give it three out of four stars. Good job!
Rightly said. The author has a masterly use of language, and the plot development is captivating. I consider this book a masterpiece.

I liked so many things about this book. What stood out for me was the themes. It had themes of slavery, corruptions. But most importantly, I liked that the author made it a pirate book through and through. However, I did not appreciate the pirate language. It made it difficult to follow. So a three out of four it is from me.

Hendrickson did a beautiful job here. It is a perfect tale of love, adventure, teenage piracy,. Corruption, to mention a few! How he was able to blend all these themes and still manage to create an enjoyable book is just class. It's a great read.

I would easily give this one 4 stars. Beautifully written with such a fast-paced action-packed storyline. I love how the book takes you to another era. And even more, a different way of living. Fiction or non-fiction, I don't care much. I just enjoy a good storyline.
