Another major Intruder that still interrupts me often (even though I wrote this book), is "wanting to look good." Oh how I can still feel awkward and embarrassed when I say or do something stupid :) That Intruder took up camp in my mind when I was five, and still has its way with me (but not nearly as often) Rob

One intruder that I face is procrastination. I always know that some activities need to be get done because they are important yet I still come up with some excuses that prevent me from getting them done on time.

There are many Intruders I deal with. Perhaps the one that chatters most is discouragement. I haven't got full knowledge how to handle failure. The thought of not being successful discourages me even before I start off

Self-doubt will be my intruder. I just want everything I do to be perfect and blameless. That is a fragile space to put oneself, which could open the door for others to take advantage of one's vulnerability. It opens the door for procrastination to creep in, because, in my opinion, it is either done perfectly or not at all. I need to reason with myself through Rob White's book that it is okay to make mistakes and learn from them, and focus on constant healthy self-development by not being too harsh on myself.
If you are having a bad day, let people see that you are having a good day...Spread good vibes, people are going through a lot already. :tiphat:

Discouragement is the common intruder I fight on daily basis. Whenever I fail to achieve my expected goals or plans on a particular commitment, I will feel discouraged hereby making me unable to try again.

As the author of this book, who has experienced "the Intruder" in a thousand ways, I can tell you that one of the Intruder's favorite feelings is "feeling unworthy." Why? Because it gets to be right about you being flawed. This unwanted mental house guest can only maintain residence in your consciousness if you feel bad about yourself. And it is tenacious about this. Being a human being includes being this "other self" to some extent. It's when we see it and accept that we invented it, then we can begin to handle it. :) Thank you for daring to look at this culprit, so that you may get off it and get onto what's really important to you: being a contribution to the whole human family by revealing your own marvelously made nature and sharing it. One of them is low self esteem. I tend to suffer from an immense problem of finding faults in myself and underestimating my capabilities. Another is procrastination.

Like so many others, the most common intruder I face consistently is procrastination. In my case, it is the resultant effect of the combination of a need for the perfect circumstances and a fear of failure. So, I keep pushing stuff until I'm fully confident in my ability to accomplish them.

I just never seem to be able to conquer the intruder called procrastination. I look for a perfect time and environment to complete tasks and it just doesn't come soon. I loved Rob's thoughts and ideas on this menace called procastination.

Procrastination is mine. I always tend to put things aside and end up regretting it. I am consciously learning to put that away in order to succeed at my goals.

Procrastination is a deadly intruder! Subtle but deadly. It keeps you constantly in a place of convenience and deters you from achieving your goals. I am currently dealing with this intruder and already seeing the changes !

The intruder that I battel the most, maybe daily, is procrastination. And I know that it's bad for me because I have so many things that I want to finish, but, most of the time I can't find the power to surpass this intruder.
