Soon books will be a thing of the past

Sadly and sooner than we think, there will be no more books. Librarys will be all ebooks and children will not know what an actual book is. To me this is sad, and I plan on buying books as much as I can to have. Esp for my childrens sake, I as a mother enjoy the bedtime books and reading when I have some free time. With a tablet it is just not the same. Having the book in my hand makes a world of diffrence to me and I cannot get into a good story holding a machine.

I agree 100%. I am one of those people who go into a bookstore just for the smell of the books. Holding a book in my hands and thumbing through the pages is one of the greatest joys for me. I don't have any children, but I do have nieces and nephews that I read to often and never has it been from my kindle that I have done so.

You may note4 that the earliest of the 'end of real books' threads appears here some half-dozen years ago.

In all of the threads about this, people say 'there is nothing like the feel of a real book' and as above "I cannot get into a good story holding a machine".

So are you folks saying that you will stop reading when or if books are only availble electronically? You really think you will not enjoy reading because of the media?

Not saying I will never use my tablet to read if it came down to that but as long as I have the option to buy or have a book in my hand I would def take that. I do not like reading on the computer or a tablet. Just not enjoyable to me.
