E-readers and eye strain

Post by Magtuired »

I'm a bit of an e-reader skeptic, but I'm slowwwwly coming around to the idea. I won't ever phase out my paperback habit, but I might be interested in supplementing it with an e-reader, should I find myself with some spare money or generous relatives.

I'm just a bit worried about reading off their displays: I read hardcopy books without glasses, but can't use a computer without glasses for any extended period of time or my eyes get quite sore. I've never had a chance to use an e-reader for extended periods of time, so I was wondering if perhaps some of you guys have similar occular issues and use e-readers? Is reading a breeze for you, or are you now rendered permanently snow-blind?
