I read faster in Paperbook, but I like to read online. I cant read fastly from screen. The reason is also because I don't like to switch on my system again and again, but I can read from my book all the time easily.

If I am enjoying a book, I will zip right through it, regardless of format. Although, I have to admit that I do prefer to read hard-copy books.

It seems like the "pages" turn faster on the ebook so it at least feels like I am going through more material much quicker.

I read e-books faster, usually because i have my phone or tablet right there next to me and its a bit more convenient i guess. I read paperback books just as fast but i tend to save them for when i get the urge to feel and smell the pages lol but mostly saved for when the electricity goes out, reading by flash light makes me feel like a kid under the covers again!

I read faster and better with paperback/hardcover books. I feel more connected feeling them in my hands and smelling the paper. :D

It could be the same to me but with the Kindle App on my phone, I can "turn" the page faster by pressing the volume buttons.

Well knowing that I always have the e-book with me makes me read slower because I can read it whenever I want.

I pretty exclusively use my Kindle, it is not as heavy and cumbersome. I do feel I read faster on the Kindle, and because I don't physically have the book, I am not intimidated by the size. I find myself reading more classics such as Les Miserables, I not sure if I am going to head to Anna Kerenina or War and Peace next. I was led by reading a book about a Pastor martyrd during WWII to read the Rise and Fall of the Third Reich which is quite big. I am about 50% through. I feel like I am expanding my horizons more than I would be without the Kindle.

I do miss the touch and feel and smell of a real book - sometimes I browse Barnes and Nobles just to look for new titles and to "fondle" the books

About me, I can say that always prefer reading paperbacks for the touch, the essence e the sensation of completeness. Even if I read a book in less time by my tablet... But only because I can tire my eyes less finishing earlier u.u and, moreover, I enjoy a paperbacks like the time doesn't exist. That's all :)

It depends on the book, but I tend to finish a eBook quicker because I often use the audio option, which allows me to listen while I handle other tasks. p.s. I generally read Hardcover books rather than paperbacks.
Wishing you a terrific read, Chrystal

It's so weird, but I read a lot faster on paper. I have an e-ink reader, so I know it is not because of eye strain. A book that would take me 3-4 days on paper takes me a week on an ereader though. I'm not sure why.

I definitely read more and a lot faster on an ereader. I have read countless of classics and books by new authors on my ereader that I probably wouldn't have read if I didn't have my reader. Traditional books are nice however, I guess with me just having and using the new technology gives me a thrill.

I read physical books (hardback and paperback) faster than e-books due to the lighting of the screen. My eyes tire more quickly no matter the screen type (laptop, cellphone, tablet) and if it's not plugged in, the battery goes to critical. :(
Besides, I love the smell of books!
