Yeah it's worth getting an ebook reader. It won't replace a paper book, but it has a lot of good points. You can get a book right away without going to a book store. There are many free books out there to read. Many of the free books are good, and if you don't like a book. You can just delete it from the reader. The storage of the readers is great. You can have a library of books at your finger tips.

I am trying to fully convert to an e-reader. I love the ease and comfort of having multiple books available at once, as well as being able to look up a word at a moment's notice. I just purchased a color Nook for my college aged daughter. She has opted to make use of the electronic book, which saves a ton of money!! I do read books on my cell phone at this time, and although I love the feel of the book itself in my hand, I find that I am enjoying the ease of much more at my fingertips.

#still in the valley!!!

hey guys, i am new to this site so i may have overlooked a few user guidelines but i would like to comment on the mobile phones usage as e-book readers. there are very good reading apps available for apple devices and androids. i personally use apple iphone 4s and do most of my reading using app called stanza. the benefit is that i dont have to carry an extra device.

I love my Kindle and read it daily, particularly at the end of the time to wind down before going to sleep. It's great for traveling because it takes so little space. I slip it into my purse when I have doctor's appointments or other situations where I may be waiting with time to spare. If you love to read, you'll love an e-book reader!

Well, in my personal opinion, an ebook is no substitute for the real pages of a real book. But if you are a traveller and you are not bothered to lug around a heavy novel around with you, an ebook would be PERFECT!!! However, when purchasing an ebook, don't be afraid to spend, you don't want to be stuck with a cheap ebook that doesn't work.

I bought a KOBO mainly because libraries use this brand, and they tend to be cheaper than the Kindles......Like a lot of people I only considered the idea of an e-reader when I thought of packing books for my travels, then an e-reader seemed the obvious answer, a secondary bonus, for someone who like me suffers with joint problems, the e-reader is lighter than most books. Having said this I still prefer print on paper, so much more restful for the eyes!

Yes, but only to find passages quickly, and preferably a tablet so that you can use the device for other purposes.

I have a kindle and I love it. Like most of the posts I had my doubts because I love my books. . . and even when a new book comes out that I want I wrestle with myself sometimes and I might get the hardcopy. . but my kindle still is more convenient and saves me a lot of space. I recommend it for any reader.

I've been loving my Kindle since I got it a month ago. I read more than ever. I like that I can hold it in bed easily, and that I can go on the store and get a book I want.

I love, love, love my Kindle Fire! Started out with Kindle ereader, but love the Fire better. I miss the feel of holding a book at times, but love being able to have a book no matter where I am at. Love that I can pick up reading on my Iphone if I am caught with a moment to read and don't have the Kindle with me. I miss the free promotional books that Amazon used to have! But I have lots of them in my account so have lots of reading to do!

Excellent point about the pages not getting bent! I make sure to take my KindleTouch if I know I'm going somewhere that will involve waiting.
