I haven't yet read the entire book, but I noticed themes of police brutality, racism, power misuse, violence, gender discrimination, misogyny, betrayal, love...and the most important and obvious theme- war.

There were a number of themes I saw and could relate to. Before I mention them, I said I could relate to them because I have seen them countless times in my country.
So, racism, police brutality, betrayal, and discrimination are the themes I could relate to.

For me, the themes of politics, police brutality, drug abuse, authority abuse, and power play were apparent. It was as though through Steven joining the police force, I had a front seat show to a lot of things happening in the force.

The author explores police brutality and the corrupt misuse of power, and these are topics that are unfortunately still relevant today. These were the themes I could relate to the most.
