Very correct comment; sadly it seems that those given the opportunity to choose whether or not to start a conflict were not so wise. Seeing it from your point of view, it is impossible not to agree, if a war starts we all must be prepared; age does not matter.Chimereucheya O wrote: ↑03 Aug 2022, 13:10 In cases like this, if nothing is done, the war will still come to them. Nobody is safe during wars, and the governments do this to hide themselves and because they know that people can't complain because they are at war.
The main problem is letting a war happen. If I was in power, that's what I'd try to avoid.

What then will be the fate of a country when their future leaders are being drafted to war.
I think youth from 22 above are legible to be drafted to war and not kids.

As for my interference if I had the power... I am not so sure there is much i can do to stop it, in fact I don't think it can ever be stopped. If the government doesn't draft kids to war, terrorists will. It is just an endless circle.

On another note, war should be avoided as much as possible. There has to be alternatives that does not involve war.

Mandatory drafts are indeed hellish. As an avid reader, I see several nonfiction books by American authors who mention how the Vietnam War shaped their reality. I hope war disappears entirely because nobody deserves its cruelty.Lindzy Herbrand wrote: ↑03 Aug 2022, 13:10 Whenever I read historical fiction or non-fiction pertaining to war, like with Wild World, I am relieved that in the U.S. there is no longer a mandatory draft. I don’t think it’s right for any age or country to force their citizens to fight without choice. As such my thoughts are that children should absolutely be exempt from drafts, and only those of legal consenting adult age should be allowed to participate.

No kid should indeed face the terror of war, they are just not equipped for the emotional damage.CYSON DOROPH wrote: ↑04 Aug 2022, 01:49 In my opinion, it is menacing, but such times just go to show that there is inadequance of qualified persons or those who would love to join without being forced or called upon. I think it is bad because I think that kids may not be able handle the emotional turmoil, terror, and hardships, however tough they mat be.
However, it is sad that every war sees more kids on the field. And the government can't really do much in prevention, in fact no one can.
