Reading is important

Post by BLESSED1991 »

Reading books that interest me has been my therapy because one wise man once said if you want to hide knowledge or significant information then hide it by writing a book. So, I realised that reading books increase your knowledge and outright all unnecessary information that never helped you. So, I am enjoying every moment and I am becoming a better person through reading. Am I the only one who is experiencing all of that?

As a child I never understood what benefits the reading had. Oh boy, am I glad I read! I have encounteres so many grown people who struggle with diction, imagination and so on because they never read!

Reading is VERY important. It is a source of education that can be obtained for free from libraries of all types; digital and physical. Written and verbal language skills are improved whenever you open a book.

I gain enjoyment from perusing the work of writers long deceased to see how language varies from different periods in recent history.

Reading is my escape from this very mundane and humdrum life. Through books and stories, I can be a witch, an astronaut, a child with an invisible friend, someone with mental ambiguities or physical deformities; in short, I can be anyone else but me. I can go anywhere else but here. I can, and have, lost myself in a good book/story.

Reading is very important as it is often how you obtain valuable information. By reading, one can learn about places one has never been, people one has never met and varying ideas and views held by many different people. Reading can be a source of relaxation for many, giving the opportunity for 'escape' into another world.

It helps me learn more topics when I am writing poetry.

My dad , because his mom was an English teacher, always gave us the pointers of the benefits of reading.

@Renee Cryer I will read any type of fantasy novel. I also enjoy perusing historical works, including anything scientific! However, novels such as '50 Shades of Grey,' are a huge no!

I used to read as an escape, due to a rather turbulent childhood! As such, I developed a strong habit of reading for pleasure! I am always seen with a book/Kindle in my hands!

Getting lost in a book can be amazing.

Well, I agree with that. I have been known to start a new novel series and read the first one. Then I visit my local book store, Amazon or Ebay websites. If any more have been published, I purchase those books. Then I enjoy reading those new acquisitions in my free time!
