I gain enjoyment from perusing the work of writers long deceased to see how language varies from different periods in recent history.

It helps me learn more topics when I am writing poetry.stacey+2018 wrote: ↑14 Jan 2025, 14:14 Reading is VERY important. It is a source of education that can be obtained for free from libraries of all types; digital and physical. Written and verbal language skills are improved whenever you open a book.

Oh boy, am I glad I read! I have encounteres so many grown people who struggle with diction, imagination and so on because they never read!

I used to read as an escape, due to a rather turbulent childhood! As such, I developed a strong habit of reading for pleasure! I am always seen with a book/Kindle in my hands!Lorna Walters 1 wrote: ↑01 Feb 2025, 21:39 Reading is very important as it is often how you obtain valuable information. By reading, one can learn about places one has never been, people one has never met and varying ideas and views held by many different people. Reading can be a source of relaxation for many, giving the opportunity for 'escape' into another world.
