The way current social media works is definitely not good. It encourages addiction and attention-seeking. I don't know if it can be fixed or if the issue is more about educating kids on how to properly use them. Probably both. There can definitely be a lot of good gained too. I just personály think the bad is right now way more prominent.

While socail meedia has its vices, the pris far outweighs the cons. So in the end it is good for our youths.

I love social media and use it to help me stay connected to those I care about. It's great to use with my young adult children because they live in different states and I feel closer to them. I use it to read the news or get a new recipe. It's fun to follow my favorite movie stars and athletes and get to know them better as people. But I think it is detrimental for kids and teens who are attached to their phones, iPads, and computers 24/7. Parents should limit social media time and encourage their kids to get outside, be active, play games, read books, etc.

Social media dose serve some purposes. The ability to find like-minded individuals when you don't fit in at your local high school is important. But like everything, balance needs to be found. Educating kids on the perils of over use and the fake relm of influencing is necessary.

Social Media has the potential to be a powerful force in an adolescent's life, for both good and bad. The two extremes are what worry me with adolescents who are still forming their notions about life, themselves, and others. The potential for cyberbullying, manipulation, and social rejection are too powerful to ignore. Ultimately this is up to parents to set boundaries and monitor their child's social media interaction for negative posts.

I think social media has done more good than harm. Social media has helped a lot of teenagers be the best version of themselves. Although it has flaws, but they are safe space for some individuals.

The rules established by those who've developed social media for their own children reveal a lot about the impact of social media. I believe it can be particularly detrimental to children, given that they are in such a crucial, formative stage of their lives.

The reason for not delving deeply into the effects of social media could be attributed to its dual nature, comprising both positive and negative aspects. This duality allows individuals to relate these effects to their personal experiences in the real world. Nevertheless, when the author portrays Damion's emotional turmoil, it becomes apparent that social media can have detrimental effects on the life of a developing child. I concur with this perspective.

Fostering a sense of self-worth based on the number of likes and comments received fails to encourage holistic growth, which entails embracing both positive and negative feedback. Constructive use of both types of comments can serve as valuable learning opportunities. This lack of acceptance of negative feedback can lead to feelings of desperation.

It is difficult to judge social media, as it is a way to know what is happening around the world where there are no more secrets, but it is also a double-edged sword, the amount of fake news and dangerous trends that may play with the minds and harm young people and children are enormous, so in any case it exists and we must deal with it, but we must also pay attention to our children and adolescents while using it. We must also educate them that it is not a measure of self-judgment, it is just deceptive realities in most of the cases.
Life is hard on its own so let's make it easier for each other if we could.

Learn to control yourself or someone else will control you. That is the case with social media. We are either controlled or control.

I think the aitohr did well in tackling this topic, but on my side, I think social media is just as any technology that is in—it's about how people handle it. But because youth are still young and need a fair amount of guidance in most things, social media can be detrimental to them if left unchecked.
‘When you do a good deed, people are grateful, and that creates a nice feeling inside you; and then because it feels good, that makes you want to do more good deeds. That repetition is the cycle of goodness.’

I have seen first-hand how social media can be detrimental to young people today. In high school, my daughters were tormented when they were left out of events and later saw things “posted” on their friends’ walls. Or when people would say things that were intended for them to see.

There were also times when they made the mature decision to take breaks from social media and I think it did a world of good for their mental health. I don’t think I realized at the time the pressure they felt to look a certain way or dress a certain way. I am grateful that they both had strong self-esteem and good friends surrounding them.
