Question about forum rules

So that we can provide faster and better support, this forum (the "Public Suggestion Box") has been retired. Instead, please send any suggestions you have to us using the official website contact form.

This allows us to streamline our support system so that we can get to your message much faster. Instead of our support staff having to check three different places (support forum, suggestion box, and contact form messages), they know can respond to all message through one method, with that one method being the official website contact form.

Question about forum rules

Post by Brandi Nichcole »

I hope I am allowed to ask this here as it's pertaining to this forum in particular. I joined this site Yesterday so not sure how everything is supposed to work yet . The forum rules at the top of my screen says "you must limit each topic thread in this section to only one book or only one series" does that mean I can only post about one book on this forum for so long or if I post about more than one book I need to post them separately ?

Hi, Brandi.

Technically, this forum is only for the kind of threads you're asking about and all queries are meant to be posted in the "Support, Feedback and Announcements" section. However, in regards to your question, you can create a thread discussing any number of books if they are part of a series but it can only be one series. For example, you could create a topic about the Harry Potter series or one just relating to 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone'. You wouldn't, however, be able to post a thread about the Harry Potter series AND another relating to J.K. Rowling. Similarly, if you wanted to post a thread about only two of the Harry Potter books, I think you would need to create a thread for the entire series :)

And you should check to see if the book you want to post about has an existing thread or not.
Otherwise you run the risk of the dreaded lock

Do note that the rule about discussing only one book or series per topic only applies to the "Reviews and Discussions about Specific Books and Series" section.

There is also the "General Book & Reading Discussion" and other forum for discussion about authors and the forum for discussion about ebooks. In these sections you can discuss broader topics than just a specific book or series.
