Breach of promise

Post by r123 »

I do review for many blogs and sites for free. But when a payment is promised , it should be given. Any idea if anyone has ever been given any payment promised? If the review had been asked for free, I would have put the same effort. But sincerity should flow both ways.

Thanks
Rubina

That is unfortunate. Apparently, someone trying to sell his viewpoint or to peddle his wares does not respect other people's time and effort. That reflects upon their product, whatever it is.

The product is a book review done here many days back and no response from the moderators. I understand people don't change for book review. I do it honestly even when I am not paid simply because I love doing reviews. My only anger is, do not make these promises if you don't want to keep it. Some people really might need this money.

Does this happen a lot here? I'm just curious. I notice that there's mention of payment for reviews (that's one of the things that led me here) but can find nothing documented about the mechanics of it all. Is it trust based? Before committing myself I like to know all the in's and out's of a situation.

Sorry to hear you've been let down, by the way :(

Yes, I just cleared the backlog of pending reviews over the last few days. Sorry for the delay. I will work on shortening turnaround time for publishing pending reviews.

Thank you Scott. It is nice to know we have finally got a honest site. In return you would really get honest and timely reviews from me. Thanks.

So I was just wondering, how do we get paid for a book review? Where do I post it, how do I get the book etc? Can anyone steer me in the right direction?

Thanks

Of course Scott is the best person to answer you. But I will just go by my experience. After joining, you have to have min 5 posts in various topics, before you are allowed to review a book. After that a new topic opens for you in your forum page itself. After that you just follow the instructions. You can pick the book you want to review. Not all books are paid in cash. Some are and some aren't. After you submit your review, the moderator[Scott] puts it in the right section depending on the genre of the book. You are paid via Paypal.
