The Stinky Review Process
It's not easy to write a review. Reading the book takes a long time, especially if it's not one's cuppa... and then I sit down and think a good long time about what I want to say, read over my notes that I made throughout the book and put together a solid review following the guidelines.
It takes a few days before it's "approved" and then the author has the option of "not making it published" ?
Why ask us to read a book if they don't like what we have to say? I'm sitting around waiting to get paid and I happen to notice my other reviews, and one of them (which I actually enjoyed) chose not to have it published. Why?
What is the point of writing these reviews at all, if no one is going to read them?
FRUSTRATED!

The author doesn't choose whether or not to have it published after it is written. They choose when they originally submit the review request if they want the review to be published publicly on the site even if it is negative or not. Either way, it is delivered to the author to use as constructive criticism.

I really thought they just didn't like what I had to say - and I thought that was odd because I said generally nice things.
I still haven't heard back from my most recent on though

no - i think the author chose not to make it public. sad. i worked really hard on that - and fought through reading a longwinded piece of 'not good' in order to write a decent review... now no one will know
