On Avoiding Plagiarism

Has anyone been cut out of reviewing for plagiarism? Trust by Online Book Club could be based on a good record of someone who has done a number of reviews already? So an explanation of how they have managed to appear this way just prior to being cut may be a polite way to warn the culprits. No review is published unless it is ok anyway and this can take weeks. During this time a reviewer could be alerted. Other issues need to be fixed, why not this one.
Information available on how to avoid appearing plagiarized within this site would be helpful. Not just advertising Grammarly. (Grammarly - not sure if this is true for the unpaid version - can identify if one has instances of this)
What does everyone think? Ever been accused of plagiarism?

Hello. I think the issue of plagiarism is stated in the guidelines. If a reviewer is not honest in his reviews, that means he hasn't read the guidelines, hasn't read the book, and isn't worth trusting in the future. I guess that's why there is an immediate barn.

However when someone posts publicly that this isn't true and is in anguish when to all intents an purposes they have a good record prior to this, I'm not convinced it is explained in the guidelines. Your answer here sounds arbitrary. Where the decision has been arbitrary, unhelpful and the accuser denies it, I'm inclined to believe them and wonder why the communication with this person didn't require an explanation from them before the issue meant "Go to Jail!" without a trial, and they have resorted to plead in public. (within Online Book Club) Please don't treat hardworking reviewers who are no longer new to Online Book Club as a faceless statistic to be removed on a belief. Was he even shown what was stated that was plagiarized. Reviews go though a lengthy process before they are approved. I've heard of another explanation as well (I believe) to do with reviewing in Amazon and in Online Book Club in the wrong order or timing. I know it is a very serious issue. Why does Grammarly for example have an option to check for this? It's because it can happen inadvertently and I have been caught out when I ran it. I had not plagiarized anything! Yet it revealed that I had. At a fixable stage.

I understand your point. If you run any article through a plagiarism checker, there is always a certain percentage of plagiarism because of the similarities in some sentences. OBC cannot barn you because of such small similarities. but if a review has a full paragraph plagiarized, you'll get the barn. Also, when an editor marks your review as plagiarized, they must attach a link to the plagiarized content. If you don't get this link, there is always a recheck button to submit a complaint.

Yes but does an average reviewer know this?
