Two new catagories in Writing

These are two ideas for the Writing section. Sorry if these are implemented elsewhere and I didn't notice.
1. A weekly journal section. A free-writing prompt would be given (ex. write about a place that is meaningful to you) and users could respond.
2. A perminant show-off sec. Short stories could simply be posted, and full novels or books via file upload links with Word files.

Users can currently post their short stories in the writing section for feedback and exposure. Unless more users do this on a regular basis, creating a whole new category for it may just make navigation more difficult rather than more convenient. What do you think?

Okay, so that answers Idea 2. But what about 1?
I think having a weekly short-write prompt would give people a cool place to share and learn about each other. For instance, sharing on topics like "What's your favorite animal, and why?" could create a community-like feeling, where people really get to know each other.
ps. If you don't think you'd have enough topic ideas, I'd be happy to work that section.
