Cannot post until another user posts

Cannot post until another user posts
I saw a thread of interest and posted a reply. A person had recommended a book on the same thread. I wanted to ask him about that book, but didn't want to ask in the same post, so I tried posting another reply but got an error message saying "You cannot post in this topic until another user posts after you. Please edit your message instead."
I tried editing my first post, but got the same error message again.
1. There definitely is a bug. It should let me edit my first post.
2. I find this constraint unreasonable. I can have valid reasons for posting back-to-back. The above situation was one such reason.
Can we do away with this rule? Or atleast fix the bug please.
