The theme of resilience was notable. Coming to a new country demands courage, but then staying and finding your footing requires resilience. Ali's story is one of valor and determination!

There are various themes explored in this book but two are more pronounced and they are; religion and freedom. The region that was explored mostly was the Muslim religion. The concept of Freedom was also expounded. Love and diversity are also other themes that were explored.

Master's transition from a devout Shia Muslim background to finding faith in Christ in the context of American freedom provides a rich exploration on the role of religion in shaping one's view of freedom. It highlights the relationship between religious freedom and personal transformation, and how different cultural and religious backgrounds perceive and experience freedom in the American context.

Some of the themes contained in this book are:
Liberation in terms of love ( relationship with friends, family, and partners)
Perseverance: The ability to choose to succeed despite the curveballs thrown at you
Passion and purpose: Following one heart with passion and purpose despite the world's pressures.
Truth: the importance and value of truth in the development of health human relationships that serve as a foundation for a quality life for yourself and others.
The misconception of assumption: how what we assume as societal standards without genuinely hearing what an individual feels or says, can be destructive to growth, creating false relationships and wasting time if pressures by all parties involved.
"Mastering others is strength; mastering yourself is true power." Lao Tzu

The themes of love, religion, culture, family, determination, are the main religions discussed in the book, according to me. All these themes are proven with several examples from Ali's life, and are relatable. He finds Judy, the love of his life in another land, with whom they get married. He changes his religion from Muslim to Christianity, which didn't go well with the culture of his Homeland, especially his parents and the extended family. His determination to be a successful entrepreneur in America saw him find promotions in the business he ventured into.
