I see nothing to disagree with. It’s a sweet, interesting story with good lessons in it for everyone. Everything in it is wholesome and fun.

I was determine the core issues that the novel addresses: family, friendship, and self-knowledge. I can look at these themes to see whether they are treated well enough or if they raise questions about the complexity of these questions.

I think the author did a really good job of telling this story from the point of view of a 12-year-old. I think that the issues she comes across with her family and how she views those issues are very relatable.

It’s very close to impossible for me to agree with everything that ANYBODY says. I don’t think that any two people can have the exact same opinions.

It shows the true struggles of a preteen dealing with family issues. As someone whose parents are still married, it is hard to really know how she felt.

The author deserves credit for crafting a narrative that authentically captures the voice and perspective of a 12-year-old protagonist. The story effectively tackles complex family dynamics and relatable challenges, which are skillfully filtered through the young protagonist's unique lens.

Lea's story was interesting and relatable, but I didn't appreciate the way the indigenous people were described repeatedly as "dangerous, cannibalistic Indians." If that hadn't occurred, I would feel much more comfortable reading and recommending this book to others.
