If you are a parent, would you consider giving your children a chance to decide whom to go with in case of a divorce?

It depends on the age of the children. But if I were in such a situation, I would consider their choice but would not burden the kids, by making it a life-altering decision. If possible, I would have them stay with whomever they like, till whenever they want.

Hi!
Depending on the circumstances, and if they are minors, I believe the children should go with their mother. If it is safe for the children, let them have visitations with their father. Do not use your children as a weapon against a spouse. It causes confusion and can build hate within the children against the parents. As children get older, they will make their own decisions about your spouse and will or will not accept your spouse in their lives. If you are still not sure, let the courts decide. Bring your facts. Let your children live their lives as normal as possible. During the divorce process and after, show your children love and tell them you love them often. Remind them that whatever is happening is not their fault!

Yes of course I feel my child should chose who to spend most of their years with just my opinion.

A child has the right to decide what is best for him/her. So in case of divorce, I feel it's okay to allow the children to decide who to follow. Thanks.

It depends on what age they are, if they are a teenager, then yes I would. My parents asked me to choose the parent I wanted to live with and I am glad they did.
