Do you have any favorite chapter books that fall under the middle grade or younger age range? What were some of your favorite ones growing up?

Back in elementary school, my favorite children's book with Number the Stars by Lois Lowry. Then, Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling took over my reading life for quite some time. Still love the series!

I remember Merchant of Venice by Shakespeare given to us in our syllabus. And I enjoyed studying it throughout that year.

Merchant of Venice sounds like a very difficult read for students middle grade and under. Middle grade books are normally aimed at kids ages 10-14. I'd imagine Shakespeare plays would be more for high school grades. Were you in an accelerated program? Were you able to fully comprehend it?

When I was younger, I adored the Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, and Alex Rider series. Now, I still read middle grade books (English studies). My favorites are Welcome Back Maple Mehta-Cohen, Planet Earth is Blue, and Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe. They are all very emotional and good reads with great lessons for kids.
