I'm fortunate to live in a country where bribery and payoffs aren't a daily occurrence, but I’d have picked the pidgin and slangs. Beyond the political climate, the language and cultural barriers would make communication difficult to navigate. In Spradlin's case, the added danger of his investigative work would create an even more tense and perilous environment

The political unrest in such situations adds layers of complexity and danger. The need to watch every word and action, combined with corruption and constant uncertainty, would make it difficult to navigate daily life. Spradlin's deliberate choice to investigate, despite the risks, heightens the tension. He not only faces language and cultural barriers but also places himself in direct danger, making the stakes even higher. His determination amidst these challenges adds a powerful sense of vulnerability and bravery to the narrative.

The "DASH" culture seemed very expensive, that would have been one challenging one for me to adapt to.
