Spradlin's cultural sensitivity at the time played a key part in getting him the information he needed as well as assistance in finding his client. He was able to solve getting in and out of the airports by understanding the culture at the time. He was also able to make friends with people in the area to gain further information about what happened to Freddie. By also attempting to speak the local language, he was seen as less of a foreigner and was able to uncover more information from his sources who then looked at him with some respect. Knowing the language also helped him to not get trapped at the airport multiple times.

Spradlin was very well-versed in the customs of the region and different groups there. So much of this seems bizarre to me having no background knowledge. I was baffled that he and his partners knew how much money each person would consider fair for their position.

I feel that that was the key element in his quest. If he wasn't culturally sensitive. He would have failed his quest.

Reading" *Quest: Finding Freddie: Reflections from the Other Side* felt like stepping into a surreal dialogue between realms. Spradlin's narrative doesn't just explore grief; it personifies it, giving it a voice and a face that is haunting yet strangely comforting. I found myself grappling with the concept of 'unfinished business' not just for Freddie, but for myself as well. The prose is raw, almost like a bruise—painful yet impossible to ignore. It's not a book that seeks to console; it's a book that demands introspection and challenges our very understanding of closure and the afterlife.
