Who is your favorite character in this novel? Why did you choose them over everyone else?
I personally loved the character of Spirit and his dedication to his family. I also found the character of Astaroth morally confusing and I contemplated on whether he was a good guy or bad throughout the novel, I really appreciated the depth of this character

I loved Astaroth. He was strong and fierce, a killer and supposedly merciless, yet he was a thinker with a family and had sympathies towards humans. He wasn’t a 100% good character but he wasn’t an all out evil entity either. I could almost see what he looked like and sympathised with his conundrums. Anyway, the evil ones are always the most interesting!

Hi, Varisha. I agree with you. I read 17% of the book so far, and Spirit is my favorite character. His loyalty to his ill sister is admirable. He is heroic, risking his life by prize-fighting to earn money for her cancer treatments.

Astaroth was one of my favorites. I loved his presence in the story. He was a demon but also a family man. I enjoyed his thought process on the peace treaty with the humans. I thought this character was brilliant. I think one of the most shocking and dramatic moments of this story was when he became the demonarch.

Spirit is my favorite character in the novel. His unwavering commitment to protecting his sister is truly admirable. His character showcases the importance of family bonds and the lengths to which one would go to keep their loved ones safe

My favorite character is Spirit. I loved him from the very beginning. I admire his devotion, loyalty, and protectiveness toward Emily. His determination to save her no matter the cost, his desire to learn and educate himself, his resilience despite his harsh childhood—his character is truly inspiring and admirable.

I loved Astaroth's ruthlessness too. He was a person that gets things done. His betrayal of the demon king took me by surprise. Wow... I did not expect that. That was one really well developed character.

Spirit was my favorite character. His love for his sister and his willingness to sacrifice for her really resonated with me. Watching him navigate the brutal world of Crossus while also discovering his hidden powers was a compelling journey. His growth from a boy struggling with moral dilemmas into someone who embraces his role in the larger conflict with demons made him a character worth rooting for. His determination and vulnerability made him stand out in a world full of danger.

I really like Taya. I appreciated her awareness of the world outside of Sevara, but loved her connection to nature and her deep understanding of what is right. I love that she seems to have bonded with Spirit and is supportive rather than judgemental. I think she might be underrated by a lot of people.

It's hard for me to pick a favorite, but I think I'll go with Taya because she was so different from the others. Unlike the others, who grew up in big cities filled with advanced technology, Taya grew up in a tribal community. So, she learned how to forage and live off the land as opposed to depending on man-made inventions to get things done. This also made her more in tune with nature. I often wish I could live in the countryside to get away from the oversaturation with technology and the self-centered attitudes of most people who live in cities. That's why Taya stood out to me the most.
