Phrases like 'Storm clouds thundered,' and 'deafening roar that pierced the sky,' raises my pulse in anticipation. I loved it. Thanks for sharing.Rebecca De Figueiredo wrote: ↑13 Jul 2024, 02:12 The book is absolutely brilliant for older children, and the knowledge that there will be a sequel will be good news for many. The anticipatory last sentence of this first in the series, ‘Storm clouds thundered above, and Astaroth let out a deafening roar that pierced the sky’ is satisfying as an ending and a connection to a new beginning.

I love that quote too. It really captures the lasting impact of conflict, both physically and emotionally. It reminds us that even in victory, there’s a heavy cost, and the true consequences of war linger long after the fighting stops.Bertha Jackson wrote: ↑11 Jul 2024, 10:30 "No one is victorious in war" was my favorite quote because it is so true. Even those who win have battle scars for years to come.
