Spirit is heroic every time he risks his life fighting to earn money for his sister's treatments.

I think all of the main group of characters young and old perform heroic acts. Yes, Spirit fighting for his sister, but also Emily fighting back for Spirit. Dimitri risking everything to calm and comfort Sky. The group don't even question being part of the final fight.

Now that I am further along in the book, I totally agree with you. Cheers! :techie-studyinggray:

I totally agree! The entire main cast, young and old, show incredible heroism. Spirit's fight for his sister, Emily's fierce defense of Spirit, and Dimitri's selfless efforts to comfort Sky - they all step up in amazing ways. And what's really impressive is how the group doesn't hesitate to join the final battle; they're all in, no questions asked. It's awesome to see such bravery and unity among the characters!

I think all of the main characters perform heroic acts in the story, but Emily sacrificing herself to save Spirit was the most impactful and selfless act. I suppose she was repaying him for all those times he fought in the underground cannibal ring to pay for her medication. Yet it was still such a sad and touching moment.
