Yes, I did. Spirit Clayborn is just that type of main protagonist that makes you, the reader, support him through and through. He had the powers, the intellect, and he didn't lack emotionally too. He was the character that first piqued my interest in the book.

Spirit Clayborn is brave, determined and resourceful. He cares deeply for his ill sister and is completely loyal to her. How could one not like him?

Spirit, the protagonist of *Demonslayer*, is a compelling and relatable character. His struggles in the poverty-stricken district of Crossus and his determination to save his sister create a powerful emotional core for the story. Eviston does an excellent job of portraying Spirit’s inner conflicts and the harsh realities of his world, making readers invest deeply in his fight for survival and justice.

Spirit is a very likable character. His devotion to his sister and his determination to do whatever it takes to help her make him relatable and easy to root for. Even though he’s forced into brutal situations, like underground fighting, his internal struggles and moral questioning make him a sympathetic protagonist. His growth over the course of the book—from a boy trying to survive to someone who embraces his larger role in the fight against demons—is inspiring. I found myself genuinely caring about his journey and hoping for his success.

I did like Spirit Clayborn's character. He is the underdog, who everyone loves to support. He may be a little single-minded at times and put his wants ahead of others, but at the same time, all of his wants are to save his sister. He is also someone that has never had friends, so finding himself as part of a team is unusual for him. He has only ever been able to rely on his sister previously.
