No, it did not. I generally don't check other reviews of a book that I am reading if the book is available on OnlineBookClub so no, other reviews don't affect my decision to read the book.

No, the reviews didn't sway me. I was already drawn to the book's title and premise - overcoming adversity and achieving triumph. The promise of an inspiring true story sealed the deal. Reviews can be helpful, but in this case, the book's theme and Cyrus Ansary's story spoke for themselves.

Everyone has different perspectives towards something; as for me, the few reviews I read never affected my interest in reading the book. I preferred forming my own opinions about the book and the lessons in it. I loved the themes and the various lessons one can learn from the book.

I haven't read any reviews of this book yet but the title attracts me towards it so, no reviews actually don't matter to me.

They reviews I read did help me decide to read this book. I'm not usually into memoirs but it had great reviews, so I stepped outside my comfort zone and am glad I did. It ended up being very interesting. I'm glad I listened to the reviews on this one.

Having read a dozen or so reviews of this book, certainly influenced my interest in reading it. Reviews that I had found were of high ratings, and I figured that if the book had made a BOTM, it must be a good read.

The reason I read reviews is to get a quick glimpse into what the book is about; that way, I'll know if it's something I'd be interested in. Reviews are primarily subjective; I've rated some books highly that others have ended up hating, and vice versa. One thing I look for in reviews is the presence of errors. If they're extreme that will put me off. The reviews of Odyssey of High Hopes helped me understand that this book is of interest for me, my rating will reflect my feelings of it, by the end.

The reviews I read on this book were really interesting. However, what actually made me read this book is it's title. I found the title inspiring and decided to give it a try. I appreciate the author for this wonderful writeup.
It's one I can recommend to someone to read.

While reviews of a book are a great way to figure out if to read a work or not, I think it may not always be the case. This is because of individual differences; so, I may have way different experience when I begin to read a book than those who have read it. So, my response is no. The reviews of others did not affect my decision to read "Odyssey of High Hopes: A Memoir of Adversity and Triumph" by Cyrus A. Ansary.

I sometimes go through the reviews of books before reading or purchasing them to see what other people think about them. But
it doesn't affect my decision to read the book. Reviews by other people are their personal opinions, which differ from person to person. I have selected the book based on the book overview. It helped me to decide whether I would like the book or not.

The reviews definitely helped me get a general idea of what I was going into. However, I would have still picked this book regardless

As a book of the day, I thought if it would be worth it and decided to give it a try. I didn't particularly search for reviews, but I read general rating on the botd post, which could've played its role.

I rarely read the reviews before I select a book to read because I like to form my own opinion and not be swayed by what others have said. It is rare that everyone will come to the same conclusions about a book. I do like to read the reviews when I have finished reading the book though.
